FAQs
Where are you based and where do you cover?
SWAY Dance is based in Selby. Sessions are delivered across York, Leeds and the surrounding areas. Travel further afield is possible — just get in touch, and note that a fuel stipend will apply for longer distances.
Do I need any dance experience?
Not at all. Every SWAY session is designed to be inclusive and welcoming — no experience, no pressure, just movement and fun.
Are your sessions suitable for people with additional needs?
Yes. Sessions are designed with inclusivity at the heart of everything we do. We offer SEND-friendly sessions and can adapt to suit different abilities, mobility levels and support needs, including chair-based participation.
How do I book a party?
Head to our Parties page and fill in the booking form. A £50 deposit secures your date, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before the party.
What do you need from me to run a children's party?
Just a suitable venue with enough space for the children to dance safely — SWAY Dance brings the music and everything needed to run the session. A responsible adult must be present throughout. Please note: SWAY Dance does not provide any catering, food, drink or cake.
Can individuals attend sessions without a group booking?
Yes — many sessions are available on a pay-per-person basis. You can book and pay for your own place. If you're booking as a group or organisation (such as a care home, club or school), get in touch and we'll talk through the right arrangement for you.
Can you come into our school?
Yes. We deliver curriculum dance, after-school clubs and bespoke workshops for KS1 and KS2. Get in touch via the schools enquiry form and we'll plan a session that works for your pupils.
Do you deliver sessions in care homes and residential settings?
Yes — our Wellbeing & Community sessions are designed specifically for care settings, including chair-based movement and sessions for those living with dementia.
Are you DBS checked and insured?
Yes. Nicci is fully DBS checked, insured and safeguarding trained.
